Welcome! For those of you that haven’t read my Literacy Art by Iris ROCKS! Post #1, I’d like to share a little information about this post. This post continues to
“ROCK” FOR LITERACY!!
This post is for people that love literacy. This is my second post about rocking for literacy. My focus here is to think of the many books you’ve read that rejuvenate you to be the “best” you can be. I would call that individual a “GO-GETTER” …an individual who is willing to march forward against the odds.
I introduced this term to my students one day when they were overwhelmed by their mindsets that they can’t, don’t know how, or don’t know where to start and who sometimes feel that they can’t do it, make it, solve it, or fix it. I’ve told them that the only way they’re going to know is to take the first step and “try”. Try to make it, solve it, or fix it…THINK through it one step at a time.
So, I decided to paint rocks that focused on being a “GO-GETTER”. The five rocks in the photo symbolize the “GO-GETTER” with an arrow. Each arrow represents a variety of ways we may reach our goal. Although our paths may go in various directions and some may swirl from side to side, we eventually reach our goal by taking one step at a time. Be a “GO-GETTER”.
Never stop! Take a break, while you think through the next step, but never stop.
If you find a “Literacy Art by Iris ROCKS!” rock, give me a shout on my blog/website address scribed on the back of the rock and share how you’re a “GO-GETTER”. It says, literacyartbyiris.com. Or, you can…
